प्रधानमंत्री ने वाराणसी रेलवे स्टेशन पर नए एग्जीक्यूटिव लाउंज का लोकार्पण किया
नए एग्जीक्यूटिव लाउंज में उपयोगकर्ताओं को मानार्थ अथवा भुगतान आधार पर विविध सेवाएं उपलब्ध होंगी
भारत के माननीय प्रधानमंत्री, श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने आज वाराणसी रेलवे स्टेशन पर नए एग्जीक्यूटिव लाउंज का लोकार्पण किया । इस अवसर पर उत्तर प्रदेश की महामहिम राज्यपाल, श्रीमती आनंदीबेन पटेल, उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री, श्री योगी आदित्य नाथ, रेलवे बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष एवं सीईओ, श्री सुनीत शर्मा, उत्तर रेलवे के महाप्रबंधक, श्री आशुतोष गंगल, आईआरसीटीसी की अध्यक्ष एवं प्रबंधक निदेशक, श्रीमती रजनी हसीजा, लखनऊ मंडल के मंडल रेल प्रबधक, श्री एस.के. सपरा और उत्तर रेलवे एवं आईआरसीटीसी के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी उपस्थित थे ।
प्रसिद्ध वाराणसी शहर, जहां हर साल लाखों लोग आते हैं, के प्रवेश द्वार वाराणसी रेलवे स्टेशन पर विश्वस्तरीय सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराने के लिए, उत्तर रेलवे समय-समय पर सुविधाओं को बेहतर करती रही है । इसी सिलसिले में, वाराणसी रेलवे स्टेशन पर एक नया और अत्याधुनिक एग्जीक्यूटिव लाउंज उपलब्ध कराया गया है । आईआरसीटीसी, जोकि देश में आतिथ्य और पर्यटन की एक अग्रणी कम्पनी है, द्वारा इसको तैयार किया गया है और इसका प्रबंधन भी आईआरसीटीसी द्वारा ही किया जाएगा । इसका उद्देश्य प्रस्थान समय से पहले पहुँचने वाले व आगमन समय के बाद रूकने वाले यात्रियों के प्रतीक्षा समय को सुखद और आरामदायक बनाना है । इस सुविधा का डिजाइन पंचतत्व – पृथ्वी, आकाश, वायु, अग्नि और जल, जोकि सभी जीवित वस्तुओं में मौजूद है, की भारतीय अवधारणा पर आधारित है ।
इस लाउंज में आगंतुकों को मानार्थ अथवा भुगतान आधार पर चैनल म्यूजिक, वाई-फाई इंटरनेट कनेक्शन, टी.वी., रेल सूचना डिस्प्ले, हॉट व सॉफ्ट पेय, विविध पद्धतियों के भोजन, आरामकुर्सियां, बड़े स्थानों लगेज रैक व लॉकर, वॉश एवं चेंज सुविधा वाले रेस्ट-रूम, शू-शाइनर, समाचार पत्र एवं पत्रिकाएं, कम्प्यूटर, प्रिंटर, फोटोस्टेट और फैक्स सुविधाओं वाले पूर्णत: परिचालित बिजनेस सेंटर और टिकट, होटल व कैब की बुकिंग के लिए ट्रैवल डेस्क की सुविधा मिलेगी ।
दिल्ली में, रेलमंत्री, श्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने वाराणसी रेलवे स्टेशन पर विस्तृत यात्री सुविधाएं प्रदान करने के लिए माननीय प्रधानमंत्री को धन्यवाद दिया । उन्होंने आगे कहा कि रेलवे यात्रा, पर्यटन और तीर्थ-यात्रा के धार्मिक एवं सांस्कृतिक महत्व वाले स्टेशनों के विकास पर ध्यान केन्द्रित कर रही है । इससे न केवल रोजगार सृजित होंगे बल्कि स्थानीय अर्थव्यवस्था को भी मजबूती मिलेगी ।

The New Executive Lounge will offer Wide Range of Complimentary and Paid Services to the Users
The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, dedicated to the Nation a new Executive Lounge at Varanasi Railway Station today. Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, Chairman & CEO Railway Board, Shri Suneet Sharma, General Manager Northern Railway, Shri Ashutosh Gangal, Chairman & Managing Director, IRCTC, Smt. Rajni Hasija, Divisional Railway Manager Lucknow, Shri S.K. Sapra and senior officials of Northern Railway and IRCTC were present on the occasion.
In a bid to provide world class facilities at Varanasi railway station, a gateway to the iconic city of Varanasi, visited by lakhs each year, Northern Railway has been periodically upgrading the conveniences. In this connection a new state-of-the-art Executive Lounge has been provided at the railway station. The Lounge has been set up and will be managed by IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) the premier hospitality and tourism company of the country. It aims to provide services and facilities required for comfortable waiting for the passengers during pre-departure and post arrival time. The design of the facility is based on the Indian concept of Panchtattva which is a balance of the five elements; Earth, Sky, Fire, Air and Water present in all living beings.
The lounge will offer the visitors a wide range of complimentary and paid services such as channel music, wi-fi internet connection, TV, train information display, hot and soft beverages, multi-cuisine buffets, recliners, spacious luggage racks & lockers, restrooms with wash and change facilities, shoe shiners, newspapers and magazines on display, fully operational business centre with computer, printer, Photostat and fax facility and travel desk for ticket, hotel and cab booking.
In Delhi, Minister of Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, thanked the Hon’ble PM for inaugurating the facility at the railway station for enhanced passenger comfort. He further said that Railways is focusing on development of stations of religious and cultural importance to encourage travel, tourism and pilgrimage. This will help in creating jobs and will facilitate the local economy.
